    Hey Guys,

Today I’m finally fed up with DVD SP. The more I use it, the more inconsistent it becomes. I would like to know if any of you talented professionals out there use another DVD authoring program that works well with FCP. I like the workflow of FCP to DVD SP; add chapter markers on my timeline, export an FCP reference movie with chapter markers included, and then I import that in DVD SP.

Anyone care to share what DVD Authoring program you use?

Thanks for your guidance and taking the time to read my post.

    Rob,

Wait a minute, you can’t just make blanket statements like that and expect that you won’t raise lots of eyebrows, as there are many very high quality professional DVDs that have been authored using DVDSP.

DVDSP is a very deep program if you need to go deep, or it can be very simple if that’s all you need, but in either case, pilot error will undoubtedly produce unwanted effects.

You’re obviously getting frustrated by DVDSP, but get over it and try be more specific about what you’re trying to do and what issues you’re having. Also, there are people on both the DVD Authoring Forum and the Apple DVDSP Forum who are experts on every aspect of the application.

I already posted my issue in the DVD Studio Pro forum, which is why I didn’t post it here.

There is lots of crap media on the market. What type of blank DVD media are you using? It does make a difference.

I search trashing the prefs on the web and it worked. I supposed I need to stop being so quick to blame technology. Sorry. Lesson learned.

as often as trashing prefs. seems to fix those unexplainable
    issues.

I wish os/x would trash/restore ALL prefs on boot up.

then we’d never have to do it.

We use DVD Studio Pro for all our regular DVD authoring needs. It’s worked for me for everything we’ve needed to date.

We use DoStudio from NetBlender for our BluRay authoring. This is a Windows Only software and we have it installed on an HP Workstation specifically for authoring discs.

We have tried to use Adobe Encore CS3 and CS4 with little to no success.
