DVD Studio Pro 4.2.1 backward compatibility?
Hello, my friend has a DVD project that was created in DVDSP 4.2.1, but now I need to update it, and burn some new dvd copies on MY system… which runs DVDSP 4.1.2
Is there a compatibility issue. I have tried researching this subject online, but to no avail. I know FCP6 files won’t open in FCP5… but how about DVDSP files??
I don’t want to take on this simple project if it’s gonna be a hassle.

Not sure, my guess is no but why guess. Have him email you just the project file (he needs to zip it before it goes through email. You don’t need the assets for this test. If it opens you are good, if it won’t work it will tell you right away.

Not positive, but I believe you’ll have no problem opening that project. But do as Michael suggests and check the project file by email to confirm.

Thank you both for your responses. I actually ended up passing on this project, due to other factors, but i agree that ’emailing over the project file’ would’ve been a great and easy solution.
