DVD SP sucks at subtitling – looking for alternative
So, I’m working on subtitling a whole bunch of projects. It’s the same script, but different people saying it.
I did the template subtitles for English in Sublime, exported an STL file, and plugged them into DVD SP. Then, I copy-pasted the text from foreign languages into each stl file and reimported those into DVD SP on different tracks.
Now, I’m conforming the English subtitles (track 1) to the script and snapping the other languages (tracks 2-5) to the English.
At least I would be doing that if DVD SP didn’t suck so much at subtitling. Believe it or not,
* You can’t select multiple subtitles, not even in the same language track
* You can’t snap subtitles to the playhead, only move them there
…and a whole bunch of other nuisances that make me cringe. It takes me hours to subtitle each project. So, I’ve been looking at alternatives.
I know it may be a bit much to ask, but what would be ideal is a program that:
* Has support for multiple tracks
* Has support for Chinese, Korean, and Russian
* Can import an audio or video file
* Can select multiple subtitles, preferably across different tracks
* Preferably has snapping and markersAnyone know any programs like that?
