What is the best compressor to use to make DVDs with from programmes created in Media 100i or Media 100HD?

I’ve just tried the Video option when exporting a selection to quicktime but after putting it through DVD studio pro 4 I find the colours to be washed out and some obvious pixelating on certain shots.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance

    Alex.

Export as a non-self contained (reference file)to retain the source format and quality. If you don’t find the quality of DVDSP sufficient, then either take it into Compressor and tweek the parameters or get a copy of Compression Master from Popwire.

You might want to try Bitvice by Innobits to encode when using Media100 files. Media 100 uses a different colourspace (often called StudioRGB) in its media than FCP and other applications. This leads to the overbright and washed-out look that you get when encoding Media 100 files in Compressor.

Bitvice (like Compressor) will take Media100 files encoded “by reference” and preserves the chapter markers.

    Hope that helps!
