DVD Skip issues from FCP 7

Don’t know if you meant me or the original poster – back in the day I had issues I was using Verbatim and Maxell media purchased from Tape Resources in VA, spindles of 50 as I recall.

Since then, I’ve exclusively used Taiyo-Uden, although have used the occasional spindle of Memorex from the wholesale club to burn preliminary versions of projects.

What speed are you burning your DVDs at?

What you describe sounds to me like you’ve burned at too high a speed setting. I never burn at more than 4x and use Tayo Yuden disks with designated 8x max speed.
If your burner allows, burn your master even at 2x.
Yes, takes longer but what the heck, saves you all that aggravation later.

The slower you burn, the better your results, particularly
on older players.
