This may not be the right place to post this, so my apologies if not..

A friend of mine shot some footage, then gave it to me on a dvd. The problem is that, he burned it as an actual dvd, so when I put it in my drive it has all of the Video_TS stuff intead of just, say, an AVI.

The original copies have been lost, so I’m stuck with these DVDs. I’m trying to rip them using some open source program called DVDx But it’s taking quite a long time. We’re at 1 1/2 hours and it’s only ripped about a 1/2 hour or so of actual video.

Does anyone have any suggestions about how to go about this? What programs to use, or just any tips in general?

    Thanks!
