    Hi all,

Our old dvd recorder died a while back and need a replacement for the odd VHS to DVD copy as well as realtime recording out of Final Cut for client previews.

Looking for something with both s-video and firewire or component in with the ability to make a dvd that doesn’t have a menu… rather can just start playing as soon as you pop in the dvd.

What do you recommend? I’ve been searching online and can’t really seem to find what i am looking for.

    Thanks!

Look up Panasonic. I bought one off the shelf at Circuit City (when they still existed) and it has everything you’re asking for.

Every DVD Recorder I’ve ever used has the option to either do “First Play” or “Top Menu” when the disc is inserted. You set this during the Finalize phase.
