Okay, then Atari might as well shoot SVHS. :}

September 8, 2007 at 7:34 pmThanks for the help, guys. Could you tell me how to compress in a compressor, if possible, in 720p? I’ve never done this before. Any help is really appreciated.

September 8, 2007 at 10:17 pmThank you for your help. I understand that I can’t output a 720p quicktime movie from FCP and print it in iDVD. So, how do I use the compressor, and what settings do I have to have it set at, and then can I print it in iDVD or do I have to use an alternative software? If I ugrade to FCP 6 (Studio 2), can I use that iDVD to print 720p DVDs? Thanks!

September 8, 2007 at 10:32 pmYou can’t make a high definition DVD using Apple software. You have to use other software and you have to have an HD disc and an HD disc burner. You can make either HD DVD or Bluray DVD, but you can’t do it using Apple tools. Do you have an HD burner?
All the best,
Tom

September 8, 2007 at 10:52 pmI have whatever burner came with my MacBook Pro. Is an HD burner something that you hook up to your computer? Also, is it possible to just compress the movie and still print it in Studio DVD? What kind of software can I burn an HD DVD with?

I have not found any external HD Burners yet. We purchased an internal BluRay Burner for our Mac Pro and we use Adobe Encore to author the disc.

Adobe Encore for BluRay. For HD-DVD I have only found a Toshiba Burner which is for use on Windows machines only.

No offense but it douse not seem that you fully under stand the difference between HD DVD/BlueRay DVD & a regular standard definition DVD.
Fist ask yourself douse any one that you will be giving this video to have a HD DVD player or a BlueRay DVD player. If not then there is no use making a HD DVD or a BlueRay DVD.
Export using compressor and the DVD presets, and then pull those into DVD SP.
I never recommend iDVD because you do not want your DVD to look like the one, your 10 year old nephew just made of his friends skateboarding. This reflects poorly upon you and the video you give out.
