Two quick initial “challenges” in using DVD4.5

When I attempted to import a mpeg-2 file created in Vegas 6, I received an error message “The plug-in needed to read the file is not registered. You can click the Register button to register a plug-in that will read this file.” I was able to import an AVI file

When I attempted to prepare the DVD (AVI files in the project, one from Vegas 6 and another from Vegas 8), I got the message “Warning: An error occured while writing a file. The requested plug-in does not have thenecessary features unlocked.”

    Any ideas?

Is DVD A 4.5 registered? Registering DVD A will register the MPEG encoder/decoder automatically.

Are you running the demo mode of DVD A 4.5? If not, you may need to contact tech support or simply reinstall and reregister to see if that fixes things.

    Edward,

Thanks very much for responding. Actually both are registered. Will take your advice to uninstall and try again.

I did review one render using V8. A clear improvement in color and even type (built with the old text generator).

One issue I found was some bright colors were blown out of a motion background creating a solid color. Happened two times. Gotta figure that one out! Tech support said that sometimes the 32 bit floating point needs to be turned off.

    Have a super day.
    Jim
