  • DVD part 2 not working.

Posted by Patti Arrigo on September 7, 2012 at 4:25 pm

I am having trouble burning a DVD that has 2 parts. Before I take the DVD over to our office I test them on 2 different tv’s. Both of them work fine. When an order comes in for this they are able to burn DVD 1 but not DVD 2. I don’t know what to do. I treat the 3 plus hr lecture as though it was one lecture then cut it in half and burn 1 then 2. I don’t have a clue as to what is wrong. It was even hard putting this into words.

How are they burning it (i.e. what software is being used)?

I don’t have an answer to that. They have
a duplicator for CD’s and DVD’s. I think that they have
something wrong with that not what I am doing. Its funny
we have to have someone else to blame. I have looked at
all I have done….thought maybe I over looked something
    on my end. Thanks anyway.

Patti, a friend of mine works for a local school board where they have 3 or 4 duplicators.
He tells me that the two biggest problem is people who burn the original DVD at maximum speed and cheap media.
Burn the problem DVD again but this time use a lower speed and see if that helps.
I always recommend Taiyo-Yuden for blank media.
If that brand isn’t available in your area, then Verbatim is a good 2nd choice.

    Thanks Mike
When I read this I knew that it was my problem.
That is the one thing I did not check the speed.
Pretty sure it was max. As for the CD’s they may
be in the middle (they buy bulk)That was something
I also said could be the problem. So What I have
    control over is the speed.
    Thanks again.

Patti, I sure hope that’s your problem as issues like this can sometimes be a real bear to track down.
    Good luck solving it 🙂
