I burned .mts, .mov and .jpg files to a DVD for a client to look through and he can’t open the mon his computer. I used the windows burndisc and selected the make DVD like a flash drive option so it could be read from another computer. Any thoughts on what the problem might be?

You don’t want to “make a DVD” from these files, you want to make a data DVD with the files on it just the way they are.

Mike, this is the option I used. It tells me it should open on any computer XP or later. I just don’t understand why it won’t open for him. It is not a mastered disc.

As Mike said, you want the second option. Using the first option doesn’t finalize the disc and your client MUST be using a compliant version of Windows, which means XP SP3 or later. Using the second option, the DVD is just a data disc that should work on any computer with a DVD drive. Even a Mac.

Thanks Steve. I’ll burn another and send it to him. I’ll have to ask what OS he is using.
