DVD from DVCPro HD MXF 720p/60
I am editing on the academic version of Media Composer version 3.0. the project is HD720p/60 and the media was imported from P2 cards as DVCPro HD MXF. the project is done, and i am trying to export it to burn to DVD, using either Compressor or Mpeg streamclip to compress the m2v file and then DVD Studio pro to author/burn it. i’m working on the first MacBook Pro 15″ that had the intel processor, a 2ghz intel core duo with 2GB RAM, running OS 10.5.8 leopard (not snow leopard).
my problem is i am not able to export either a Quicktime reference file or a full quality, same as source quicktime. when i export as a QT ref or same as source, using the avid codec or not, i get the audio but no video, just black, and neither mpeg or compressor can do anything with them. they instantly “fail” when i try to compress them.
when i manually set “DVCPOro HD 7820p/60” and export a quicktime, they look horrible, worse than h264 versions i exported for the web. then they get further compressed into m2v’s and my resulting DVD looks absolutely awful.
from what i can figure out on my own, the long gop of DVCPro HD doesn’t allow you to export QT ref files. but why when i try to export a high quality quicktime they look terrible. how can i export a full quality, full res quick time i can use as my master?
thanks in advance for your time and help.
