I have a project where the majority of the footage is 1080p 23.976 and I’m working in those sequence settings.

I’ll need to combine some footage from a DVD into this sequence, the DVDs are standard definition and interlaced.

What’s the best workflow (and programs) to get the footage off these DVD’s, de-interlace them, convert them to 23.976 and possibly
scale them up using a plug in?

I can work within Premiere if that would be beneficial instead of FCP7.

    Thank you

If you have premiere pro, best to use that. Not only can it access the DVD media without converting, but it up scales better than FCP. By a longshot. And also does frame rate mixing better.

If you do need to rip, do the deinterlace when you rip. MPEG streamclip does this
