    Hi everybody,
I have a slight problem I am trying to fix. I wasn’t sure if it belonged in this group but its connected to compression, somewhat. Basically I am ripping tv shows from DVDs for a personal project and once they r ripped (i used two different programs) they come out great – full original quality mpeg2. Anyways, thats not the issue, once I import the files into After Effects or Premiere everything pretty much gets messed up, as in frames are skipping, its played out as if its recognizing upper field first even though lower field is what interpretation it is(and i tried every option), then it doesnt want to guess a 3:2 pulldown, so I tried manually, I tried rendering it at 24 frames and at 30, with pulldown, without pulldown…it just doesn’t play well at all…
    Any suggestions?

Ive had luck editing .VOB files in Premier by simply changing the file extension to .M2T and drag and dropping to a bin or timeline. .M2T = transport stream.

By the way some handy tools.

DVD Shrink 3.2 = FreeWare! (Some DVD encryption Require AnyDVD)

MPEG Sreamclip = FreeWare! (Good for converting, cutting and demuxing mpeg files without re-compressing)

    AnyDVD (available through bit torrent)
