After testing all 6 copies of a DVD I made on my home DVD player and ensuring that they all played, I sent these disks to relatives spread out across the country. To my surprise, not a single one of them worked. My relatives had a slew of problems including disk skipping, the video “fading out,” and the disk just being completely unplayable. Has anyone run into this rather odd issue before? Does Vegas have burning options that deal with compatibility across DVD players? Am I using a DVD+R media, would it be a good idea to switch to DVD-R?

I am using Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0.
My DVD player is a Sony DVP-Ns315.
The Media I am using is Sony DVD+R 4.7GB with “accuCORE.”

    Thank you

Buy some Taio Yuden discs or Verbatim discs (I hear Verbatim is good but I only use Taio Yuden Watershield discs) and give those a go. Some discs are more reliable than others and Taio Yuden’s are at the top of the list.

Also, some of the older DVD players may not play as nice with burned media.

I have burned hundreds of DVD’s and never had an issue. I never burn DVD’s at the highest speed available. If DVDA wants to burn at 8X, I select 4X. Works every time.

The only time I had a problem like that was when I used to stick labels on the discs!
