I have burned a project on DVD by Sonic and am unable to duplicate it (Disc Master Tower say’s “source disc error”). The file is about 2.7GB and should have plenty of room. It plays back fine on all machines I tested it on but won’t duplicate in the tower. Just for kicks I did a test. I burned a much shorter file (less than 1G) with all the same setting in Sonic and was able to duplicate it. Here’s where I get really, really stumpted, as I look at the “burned” area on the the disc’s, they are not identical. The copy took almost twice as much area on the disc! Why?

Is it the way I burned the master? I first used Sorenson Squeeze to encode it to MPEG-2. Is Sonic trying to transcode the file again? Is it the duplication Tower? Do I need to finalize in Sonic or something? What am I missing?

    ANY ideas would be helpful.

    Thanks.

    Andy
