I use an Inspiron 9300 laptop with windows XP and Premiere Pro.
I have my project on the C drive and all my clips on an external drive.
I burned a 30 min. playing DVD and it took four hours. How can I improve on that?
    Thax,
    Joe

    Joe,
Make sure that your DVD is using the DMA interface. Sometimes
this gets setup to us the PIO interface and it can make write/read
    take forever.

    Go to the device manager
Open up the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
Right click ont he Primary IDE Channel and select Properties
    Select the advanced tab
Set the transfer modes to “DMA if available”

    Hope this helps.

    Mark

In the Advanced Encoder settings; choose 1 pass CBR and set the Quality slider to the middle. Should encode at nearly real time.
