    Hi All,

Giving me brand names & models, what are some of the DVD burners out there that are noted for giving reliable burns. Speed is not that much of an issue for me, I just want reliability and DVD player compatibility. I’m using an older NEC now with good luck, but want to get a new burner to have on hand in case the NEC decides to die. I use the Vegas to DVDA workflow & usually burn the video files to DVD using Nero.

Thanks & have a great day.

We’ve been using NEC drives for about 2 years… haven’t had a failure (knock on wood), and have always had extremely reliable burns from it, with great compatiblity with players (which is also impart due to the Verbatim media we use exclusively).

My 2 cents – stick with the NEC.

The best place to research is probably Newegg.com. I went with LG and Lite-On burners – after years of using Pioneer drives. I’m getting 16x burns without any problems from either burner.
