This isn’t a software question – it happens no matter if I’m authoring a DVD or backing up files – but I thought I’d see if anyone has a similar experience. I have a MacPro. Everything I can find on other forums says it could be that the burner doesn’t like this brand of DVD, but it only happens maybe once in every 10 DVDs. Any thoughts?

Here’s the info on my burner:

    Firmware Revision: PQ06
    Interconnect: ATAPI
Burn Support: Yes (Apple Shipping Drive)
    Cache: 2048 KB
    Reads DVD: Yes
    CD-Write: -R, -RW
    DVD-Write: -R, -R DL, -RW, +R, +R DL, +RW
    Write Strategies: CD-TAO, CD-SAO, CD-Raw, DVD-DAO
Media: To show the available burn speeds, insert a disc and choose View > Refresh

Burner could be bad, disc can be out of balanced, the moons gravitational pull maybe effecting certain discs.

    This is heavy!

I am thinking it must be the burner.
