DVD Authoring Sound Issues
I didn’t see a forum for DVD Architect so please let me know if I’ve posted in the wrong place.
I’ve rendered out my videos using mpeg-2 and ac3 audio. When I go to create the video in DVD architect I preview it and audio is spot on. Then when I burn the disk and play it back in my DVD Player (Cyberlink Power DVD) I get crackling in sections of the disk.
I’ve gone back and bumped the audio down in those sections by as much as 9dB but still get crackling. I’m confused because I get nothing when I playback in Sony Vegas or when I preview the DVD in DVD Architect. Only when I burn a physical DVD.
Does anybody have any ideas?

Why don’t you burn the DVD from DVDA? Also, never, ever burn DVDs at the fastest rate available. Other than that, I got nuthin’.

I’m a goofball. After burning a half dozen DVD’s or so I realized that for some reason Sony Vegas (or perhaps I) had normalized some clips at the wrong level. It was over driving them by 7 or 8 dB. Once I removed the normalization it burnt and plays perfectly off the DVD.
I’m curious though, not sure what DVDA is. I did a quick google, it’s an audio codec. I couldn’t find it in the codec drop down for vegas renders. Here’s what I’m currently using and it seems to work nicely…

Audio (Dolby Digital AC-3 Studio) Template (Stereo DVD)Curious what the DVDA stuff is.
