    Hello,
are consumer dvd recorders (I have a LG 4163B) able to burn this kind of disk? I mean, can I burn my dvd image made with maestro on an authoring disk and submit it for replication?

    Thanks.

    Fabrizio,

You need a Pioneer DVR-S201 to burn this type of DVD-R. The wavelength of the laser in the burner is slightly different from that used in the DVD-R General burners.

    Thanks for your reply Bill.
So, the only way to submit a dvd project to replication is to send it on dlt?

Many (but not all) replicators will work from a General DVD-R. Check with the replicator you want to use.

One last thing: using DVD-R for duplication is possible only for sigle layer discs (DVD5) right?

    Thanks again

That is correct. You must supply 2 DLT tapes for DVD-9 replication.
