I have just finished cutting a concert that is two hours and twenty min. When using apple’s Compressor with final cut pro the smallest I can seem to compress it is to 4.3 gigs of vid with 1.2 gig of audio. Anyone have any ideas of how I can get this file size small enough to fit on a dvd-r disc? Or am I stuck with going to a dual layer disc for a measley few minutes? Please help. It’s much appreciated.

What type of audio are you using? And do you have multiple audio tracks? If multiple audio tracks, are the tracks different (i.e. some Dolby, some LPCM, some mpeg, etc…)?
One 2-Hr 20-min Dolby Digital audio track at 224kbps should be around 230MB.

Just one long long audio track it’s compressed with an aiff I believe.

I would go with Dolby Digital audio.
What bitrate did you use for the Video, and how does the quality look?

Actually I used the dolby codec and It worked. Thanks. Sometimes you can miss solutions right in front of your face. Thanks Again.
