  • DVD architect rendering settings ??

I just finished one project rendered in Vegas to DVD that uses a lot of still images & PNG logos… I adjust “reduce interlace flicker” on events (PNGs) and render to “best” quality producing a very nice & sharp mpeg2-DVD architect compatible file.

However, using a small part of the same Vegas project as a menu-loop video for DVD-architect produce a video (menu) with less quality …
the small video from the vegas project was rendered in vegas as an AVI file and then imported in DVD-arch as background menu…

Which settings do DVD-arch use for render the AVI-menu ??
Is it possible to adjust (as in Vegas) these settings ??
Sometimes I have the feeling that DVD-arch render menus with the equivalent of “high” on the preview window instead of “best”-production quality on same window….

    any comments ??

    regards

There is also a Reduce Interlace Flicker option in Menu Page Properties> General

Also, you can set the menus to be progressive scan in Optomize DVD > Video1>Recompress Settings > Progressive(Yes)

…yes, I know about these options, but I have to insist… render quality on DVDarch is poor compared with the mpeg2 produced with Vegas … I wish I can have the same pristine quality for my motion menus that the one i got from Vegas mpeg2 videos….

maybe I have to take a look on another DVD authoring tool (encore ??)

I am looking for the best rendering settings from Vegas pro 8 to dvd architect without having to re encode video? I have used the mainconcept mpeg 2 for video and ac3 for audio. what is the best bitrate to achieve almost 100% quality from a dv recording to a dvd?
I need all the specs I have tried even using a bitcal to determine which bitrate and dvd architect still wants to re render video even if the file is 2.7 gig or 1.7 gig or under the 4.3 gig range. please help
