We produce a Broadcast TV show that also goes out as a DVD.
We use markers 1 thru 9 in our program to skip from section to section. We also use markers beyond those to make it easier to edit and insert graphics etc. so we end up with lots of markers. When we render a show we include markers which are included in the mpeg 2 files. When we play these DVD’s we can hit the “next” button on our DVD remote to skip from marker to marker. What we’d like to have happen is that it skips in numeric order 1,2,3,etc.
What actually happens though is that is skips to the next physical marker on the timeline regardless of its number. Is there any way to achieve my desired “numeric order.”

    Thanks

    I’m confused here.
    Anytime I’ve added markers to a project, DVDA doesn’t care if the makers were numbered 1, 4, 2, 5, 3 or 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
It automatically goes to the next marker on the timeline which, if I read your post correctly, is what you want it to do.
Or did I completely misunderstand what you want to do?

Yes, I can understand your confusion since I left out some information.

We set up our Vegas templates so that markers 1 thru 9 sapn from the beginning tothe end of a 30 minute program by hitting the number keys. However, when editing shows we add many more markers randomly with in the shows so that between markers 1 and 2 we could have markers 12, 23, 28 etc.
Thsi is the same with the rest of the timeline between 2 and 3 , 3 and 4 etc. Timeline navigation still works great because we hit numeric key 7 and we are right there.

The problem comes in when it goes to a DVD with embedded markers. A DVD remote will skip to the next physical marker not 1 through 9 first and so on.
So we could solve this by deleating all markers except 1 thru 9 before rendering. This takes time, however, and then we destroy valuable markers in our projects.

    Hopefully, this is more clear!

    Thanks
