DVD Architect Pro 5.0 How to add track
Posted by Eric Spoor on July 12, 2009 at 2:14 pmSo in the timeline when I click the plus sign to add a track, everything is greyed out. I can’t add audio, video, or subtitle track. Why is it greyed out and how can I add tracks?

July 12, 2009 at 2:54 pmWhere are you when you try and do this? If you are at a menu, the buttons will all be grayed out because you can’t add additional tracks to menus. You must be viewing a piece of media in order to be able to add tracks.

July 12, 2009 at 3:05 pmThanks a lot John, it worked, I feel dumb. But another quick question, when I make a subtitle track, and right click–>import subtitles, and I click my .sub file to open it says “Warning: An error occurred while opening one or more files. The reason for the error could not be determined.” How do I fix this.
Thanks for the reply.

July 12, 2009 at 4:09 pmI didn’t, I downloaded this movie and it came along with a subtitle file. Now I want to put it on dvd to watch on TV. When I play it on the computer subs work just fine.

That won’t work. While it is unfortunate that the files have the same extension, the subtitle (.sub) file format for DVD Architect is a text file specific to DVD Architect. Other subtitle formats won’t work.

March 14, 2011 at 11:02 pmI found a way to get the fussy program to accept downloaded subtitles. For subtitles, I use a free program called Subtitle Workshop. It’s simple but very effective, and I love using it to create subtitles.
Moreover, I had this same problem when downloading movies. I had a .SRT subtitles file, and Architect Pro 5.0 would not have it. I tried opening the .SRT file with Subtitle Workshop, then clicking save as, then choosing “DVD Subtitle” from the list. This saved the file as .SUB, but again, Architect did not like it and kept throwing dialogue boxes everywhere.
I then saved (using Subtitle Workshop) as a DVD Subtitle System, which saves them as a .TXT file.
This worked! It turns out that because Architect likes people to use their own way of adding subtitles, it’ll only accept .TXT files that have all the time codes etc. This works wonderfully, and acts as though you did all the hard work!

Hope this helps!
