DVD Architect Previews…

[Matthew Jeschke] “1. How can I make Previews on my disks. Just like the previews you see on movies you rent? I have to display some ads for sponsors that gave me footage.”

Usually you set the First Play movie to the previews. Then you set the end action of that to your main menu. You can optionally disable the remote buttons so that they can’t skip it, but I find this repulsive.

[Matthew Jeschke] “2. I would also like to include Ipod loadable files on my DVD. However, I’m not sure if you can partition the DVD such that it would load differently in DVD player versus computer? Or should a person just provide a separate disk for that?”

There is an option to create an “Extras” folder and place anything you want in it. Sorry I don’t have DVD Architect on my laptop (which I’m currently using) so I can’t give you the specific commands to use.

Create the Extras folder anywhere on your hard drive and, as John said, put anything you want in it.
When you start DVDA, go into the Properties menu, scroll down the list to the Extras folders line and tell DVDA where it is.
When you burn the DVD, it gets burned at the same time and you end up with 3 folders on your DVD, VIDEO_TS, AUDIO_TS and EXTRAS.
It won’t affect playback in a regular DVD player.
Just remember to tell your users that they’ll need to stick it in a computer to be be able to access that folder.
