Jim, I was shown the solution on the SONY site after we had evaluated the issue through many E-Mails. It was originally posted from a SONY employee/tech back in 2009, so they knew about it and DID make a move to help. A lady on the tech desk helped me with it. It took about a week to get it all sorted, and I went with the uninstall/install with the registry clean, but the missing file solution would have worked also, but I didn’t have a second computer with the same apps installed. I didn’t even have a second computer.

I printed the two pages of the registry solution, but I can perform the operation without any prompts.

it was a frustrating situation. I had no jobs waiting, but I periodically test all that I use in my business just so I don’t run into a surprise when I don’t need one.

I use a Mac now but have to maintain a Windows 7 partition for the SONY apps, which I don’t like doing because it involves Microsoft products, which I have never ever seen operate consistently well.

Glad you got back on track.

    Hello Friends,

I need help regarding Bluray production using Sony DVD Architect Pro 6.0.
Problem is that, I made a bluray disc with subtitles and menus sizing about 12gb at 25mbps speed containing about 58 minutes video.
When I am watching bluray in Preview Mode, it is works fine with all navigation throughout menu.
Sadly, when I burned (Using Prepare Method and then burned to Disc) the disc, it not showing any menu in Philips Bluray player. It just starting from video and skipping all menus and subtitles selection. Same is happening when I am opening iso file in Bluray players software in Mac and windows. No one is playing Menu which I made for Subtitles and video selection.

Please help and suggest how to make Bluray which can play menus very well on Bluray players and computer software too. Please help soon. Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Yashpal

Yes, this is a small issue resolved by knowing the workspace.

With your DVD authoring app open, load your prepared project.

In the Project Overview console (the area where your file structure is displayed, normally in the top left of the workspace) click Menu in the folder tree, or whatever you want the video to start with.

Now, in the tool bar directly above your Project Overview, there are four icons. One of them is a purple square with a white star in it. Clicking this icon sets your chosen project start in the Project Overview console. You will notice, in your case, before you click it that your actual video file has the same icon, smaller, displayed to the left of it’s file name in the folder tree.

If you cursor hover the box/star icon in the tool bar, “Set Disc Start” will display as a tool tip.

    That should help.

Thanks a lot Kelly for detailed information.
Luckily with a basic knowledge, I have set that disk start icon to one of my menu.
Actually, I made 2 menus. 1st for selecting subtitle language, and then 2nd for selecting pertinent videos. I have made enough buttons and assigned them relevant subtitle track.
I have assigned this subtitle menu as disc start menu, and then after clicking it should go to the second video playlist menu. All of this is working very fine in preview mode. I have check all functionality and possible settings of each menu and link.

But what I still doubt is on setting like auto play or auto enabled properties. Do you have video? Does it work perfectly fine for you once you burned bluray and showing menus perfectly?

Please tell me where else It can be wrong?

    Thanks a lot,
    Yashpal

Hmmmm.. I am also doing hit and error method. Let me how it get fixed.
By the way, could please set menu level recommended settings/ properties screen shot. Please remember, I am trying two menus which will be following each other based on selection.

    In another try,
    1. I have disabled auto activation of ant button over the menu
    2. Menu length instead of automatic , I have chosen for specify and value is like 1 minute.
    3. For 1st menu, loop point is 10 seconds whereas for 2nd menu is 00 seconds. I guess it takes only one menu for loop. Cos the moment I added loop point for 2nd menu, the 1st one stopped working as loop point that is nothing but delay in showing menu content.

    Thanks in Advance Kelly

I’m not sure of what you mean by “like one minute.”

I always assign my menus to hold after 15 seconds. In the case that I am producing for a client, I offer all of the options and allow them to choose auto-activate or hold.

As I stated, I don’t incorporate sub-titles, unless there is no English dialogue, which is nearly never.

My recommendations would be fruitless for your need. My original suggestion addressed a situation that it seems, for you, is an anomaly arising from some other condition aside from setting a start point.

Hello Kelly, Thanks a lot for help.
Good news is, I am able to play menu and choose subtitles. Now I am do all that I was looking for.
I just set ‘auto activated’=No and I believe it is working now.

Regarding 1 minute, in menu properties, there is a option to set the menu duration, where I selected ‘specify’ instead of ‘auto calculate’ and I assigned 1 minute time for menu. Well, I think it is not required nor fix of the issue I raised.

Moreover, I will go through the link provided by you. I used to work on mac platform (FCP, DSP), But have to move Sony as mac is getting outdated in terms of supports and updates.

    Thanks a lot again Kelly

    Hello Kelly,

One more query ! Is there any shortcut to jump from one subtitle event to next subtitle without playing video real time.
I mean once if time is fixed and subtitles events are placed on correct position, I would like to review appearance of each subtitle on screen and safe zone. If anything appears odd then correct it and then jump to next event, may be 5 minutes away in timeline.

Is there anyway to do this is quick manner.please help.
    Thanks in advance

I have run into these difficulties recently. I wonder where you got the missing files I have DVD AS 5.0, OS Win 10. I installed Sony software into blanket, brand new PC so I cannot understand why reinstalation should help.
