I have been working with DVDA for years and recently it seems that it does not recognize the markers that I inserted in Vegas. I rendered the file with included markers and also tried to have it look for them in DVDA…no luck…any help?
Also, have any of you had luck with having your menu backgrounds look REALLY good? I have tried everything in photoshop, they look great there and are the proper size for widescreen, also use reduce interlace flicker in DVDA, but they still look passable but not great…any ideas…thanks a bunch!!!

Can’t say I have experienced your markers issue. I regularly place chapters on my timeline and they generally come across fine into DVDA, although I have to ‘Insert Scene Selection’ on the imported file to then be able to see my chapters.

I have created fantastic backgrounds in DVDA, including full motion backgrounds using video and/or photo montages. The quality of the photo/video being used as a background has to be high to begin with. Perhaps you are losing quality during the save process in photo shop.

I use PNG files and they are at 300 dpi and often around 15 mb in size. They look awesome everywhere but dvda. I do have better luck with doing full motion video backgrounds than pictures. Mind you they look good, just not as good as a store bought dvd. The markers are really frustrating, it seems that it just does not see the markers I have place there before. I insert scene selection and then have it look for markers and they do not come up. If I open the same file in vegas…it shows them..just weird

With respect to photos, 300 ppi is much too large. Unless you are going to zoom in on the image, it should be sized to fit the number of pixels that your project uses. 720 x 480 pixels for example. Photos should never be in the megapixel range within Vegas. Resize photos in something like Photoshop or Genuine Fractals.

Vegas is not a still image editor. You should not expect high quality results if you depend on it for extensive resizing operations. In the best case, it should not be expected to do any resizing.

Are you inserting markers or chapters in Vegas?

To insert chapters on the timeline in Vegas, press M and give the chapter a name. Do not place a chapter point right at the start of the timeline.
