  • DVD Arch. – How to save a theme w/ chapter buttons, but not their text?

Hi folks. I’ve used Vegas 10 to render my movie with chapter markers and then added that to my DVD Architect 5.2 project using the Insert Scene Selections mechanism. That gives me several pages of on-screen menus, with 6 entries per page. I loaded a theme for one of the pages and customized it to my liking. Then I exported that as a theme. So far, all seems to be going well.

But… …the problem arises when I attempt to use that theme on any of the other pages. The theme buttons for the other pages retain their proper links to their chapter markers, but the text for those chapter markers does not show up in the on-screen menu entries – instead, the same text from the page I used to create the theme is always present.

So how can I get the text for those chapter entries in the theme to utilize each page’s chapter markers’ text instead of the text that was present before the theme was saved?

I’ve tried removing the text from the entries and saving the theme that way, but it only causes any page where I apply the theme to have no text in its entries.

Is there a special code symbol I have to use somewhere to make the text get replaced by the configured chapter marker text? I feel like I’m missing some small detail, but it doesn’t seem entirely intuitive.

Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

It seems like there must be a better way. I mean, why have templates and markers if you can’t feed the marker names into the templates?

I did not get an answer, however, and in my case, I had to get it done so I had to resort to manually redo-ing every text entry on each page that used my template. Time-consuming, but at least I got it done. But again, there must be a better way…
