DVD Arch. 4.5 “Preview disc” bug?
In Vegas 8, I created a .mpg file and a .ac3 file which I brought into DVD 4.5.
I created 12 chapter/scenes in the time line. When I do a “Preview disc” there is a remote control but the “Next” button only jumps through the first 7 scenes and then back to the first one. -

Double check and make sure you created the chapters/scenes
properly and at the same time why not upgrade to version 5.Steve Rhoden

This is a recording of a classical music recital consisting of 12 songs.
I created each scene in the same manner (insert scene/chapter marker). Could the problem stem from the editing of the movie in Vegas 8? There was a an intermission during recital and I don’t think that I may have properly joined the first and second half. Vegas 8 “help” was not much help for this.
I burned a DVD without the scenes feature and it plays fine on my DVD player. Now I want to add scenes markers and a main title. The “help” to create titles was not any help for me. I’d like to have a title at the beginning and an option to play the entire recital or an option to choose scenes and to be able to go forward and backward. It also would be cool to have extras like a video of the reception and some still photos.
DVD Architect should not let you set scenes and then ignore them in playback. How can I solve this issue?

I just noticed that I am able to advance to those later scenes using the Preview Disc, by using the right mouse button rather than the left. The backwards buttons respond differently depending on whether I use the right or left mouse buttons. In my professional opinion the “preview disc” feature was insufficiently tested by Sony. The simulated remote should not function differently depending on which mouse button is pressed.
Thanks for the link. Some of the steps which you describe, for me, need more description. Most people leave out description because they are familiar with the software, but someone not so familiar doesn’t read between the lines so to speak. I used to test software and a bug report had to be reproducible based entirely on what the tester stated and it was no easy task. Nothing can be assumed, such as the platform and software versions. Forums are great because with many people explaining the same thing, eventually enough description is produced.

Paul, I tried to make my explanation as “newby-proof” as possible.
What steps do you need further explanation on?BTW, is there a reason you haven’t upgraded to DVDA 5.0 and Vegas 8.0c, both of which are free upgrades?
