DVD A Button question
hi there
I’ve started buying sony vegas and DVD A about six years ago and ever since have not only been a vivid user but also an active member of the German sony vegas support forum. however, there is one thing with the DVD A that I never figured out: is it possible to use your own multi color buttons for any given menu, with the selected button visible (and keeping all its colors!) while the unselected buttons are invisible? here’s an example of my current project, how I would like to have it

as you can see, my “button” jumps with its selection from left to right
over the years I’ve discovered two ways to accomplish this result: either you put the “buttons” on a monochromatic background as part of the background video and then use masks with the same background colour in DVD A to hide them when not selected – or you effectively create (in my case) three different sub menus, that means when you choose the “down” button on your remote control you do not stay in the same menu but are transferred to another (sub) menu
both methods have its restrictions: number one only works well with a monochromatic and static background, number two results in the reknown “hick up” while jumping between the sub menus
now I wonder: is there really no third way, without these restrictions? and if not, is this simply a DVD A or a general authoring software restriction?
thanks for your support and please, excuse my English, I’m not a native speaker 😉
