DVD-A 3 Question
After creating a DVD using DVD-A, I usually play the DVD on the computer using Windows Media Player (v. 10).
When viewing the burned DVD in Windows Media Player there is usually a “now playing” list on the right side that will show the chapters that are on the DVD. However, instead of seeing the names of the chapter titles that I put in, the titles that show up in the now playing list are always “untitled 1, untitled 2” or “track 1, track 2”, etc.
How do I get the appropriate chapter titles to show up rather than “untitled 1” or “track 1”?

I’ve never tried playing a DVD in WMP. Where the chapter point markers named in DVDA?

Yes, they were named. Are you thinking that if the chapter markers are named this information should automatically show up when playing back the DVD on a computer?

Just ruling out one possibility. Like I said, I’ve never tried playing a DVD in WMP (burned OR commercial). I’ve always used the DVD software on the computer or a standalone player.

So when you play the DVD using computer software do the chapter titles show up? I’m not just having a problem with WM Player – it’s every software. The chpater markers do not show up as I named them. They just show up as “chapter 1”, “chapter 2”, etc.

I’ve never looked for chapter names.

It looks like WMP is calling home for the chapter information and the cover art.Steve Mann
