I’ve searched several forums and have a relatively good idea of solutions, but I currently work on Mac/FCP and haven’t been on an Avid since 2000. I could use clarification on the following workflow.

We’ve been asked to shoot a brief interview segment for an outside production company. We would shoot with a Panasonic AG-HPX170 and can record on either a P2 card or Firestore FS-100-160.

The post house we are to provide the footage to, generally edits HDCam from Sony CineAlta F900HD, on a PC based Avid HD Nitris.

I’m waiting to get complete system specs from them. In the meantime, I’d like to shoot some test clips, to make sure we can provide recorded media from the Panasonic 170 and make the process of delivering compatible media as seamless as possible for them.

For testing, I would shoot the following:
    >In camera, on a P2 card at DVCProHD
    or
    >Into the Firestore, using AvidOMF, Quicktime 24 and Quicktime.

Can anyone suggest the better alternative? i.e…

Might we be able to expect to record to P2 directly at DVCProHD/24p and the post house be able to use this natively in their Avid Nitris?

Will they need a card reader or other hardware for the P2 card?

Would I need to convert the P2 media (or Firestore media) to a specific format that will work in the Avid?

I should mention that we just received the Panasonic cameras and are still on our own learning curve regarding their capabilities.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.
