  DVCProHD to BetaSX 4:3 – With text in the letterbox

  What is the best way for me to down convert DVCProHD 720 (PAL) 25p to Beta SX 4:3? I need my image to be letterboxed as I would like to use the lower box for subtitling in FCP. My show is 48 minutes runtime and we are delivering weekly. I tried apple prores (HQ) and am very close to happy with the down convert, but I’m not super satisfied.

  I am using an 8core Mac Pro/Kona LHE/FCP6 and a Beta SX Deck.

  Obviously I’m looking to keep the image as crispy as possible.
