I am about to output a sequence using QuickTime and my output setting is: 29.97 1080i DVCProHD.

Now the sequence has multiple formats (XDCam and DVCProHD). Will Final Cut automatically output all the footage as DVCProHD format or will I need to Media Manager it as one format before outputting it as a QuickTime?

    Thanks.

My codec setting for the edit timeline is the DVCProHD setting. So, you are saying that FCP will export everything in that timeline to look like DVCProHD? I’m just trying not to do more than I have too. I really appreciate the reply.

Render everything on your timeline (please be patient) and export a QuickTime Movie. If your sequence is set to DVCPro HD, then your file will be DVCPro HD so long to use Current Settings.

Next time, I would recommend choosing one format for your timeline.

If the different clips have the same timebase, rendering will do the trick. Just be sure your render preferences are set to Best. If the clips have different timebases (23.976, 29.97, etc.) those conversions need to be done in Compressor. FCP will butcher the conversion in a render.
