I’m trying to playback a dvcprohd clip and have it display on my SD SDI monitor. I’m only getting a still frame frame that updates to the next still frame after I press stop. It’s showing up letterbox which is what I would expect but it will not display moving on the monitor only in FCP viewer. Can anyone help me sort this out.

Make sure you choose the correct FCP easy setup. It should be something like AJA Kona 2 720 24 DVCPOHD, depending on your frame rate and how you are set up.

Also in your Kona Control panel, ensure your outout is set to down convert. And the appropiate signal is selected. i.e primary or seconday and that the downcovert is assigned. You can also set up for your monitor for letterbox or anamorphic if you have a 16:9 monitor.
    Hope this helps.
