Basically, FCP is seeing my deck in local mode even thou I have the Deck on remote. I’m using the Kona LH card with the SDI connections. I’m connecting the SDI’s from the deck to the 3 SDI’s on the Kona card. I’m wondering if that might be the issue. I’ve also tried just about every setting in the AJA control panel with no sucess.

Would I lose any quality from the image if I just scraped the whole SDI business and used the Firewire cable?

    Thanks in advance.

If your source tape is DV and your timeline and edit are in DV, then the quality will be the same if you capture via FW,

What do you mean the Three SDI’s? SDI is a single cable with video and audio embedded. Component is three cables with video only broken up into RGB.

What Easy Setup are you using?
