Our workflow is potentially, shoot DVCPROHD 720p24, capture the footage to an
AVID Meridian system at SD (center cut) for the offline. The finished sequence would be Automatic Ducked on my FCP 6.0.2 system and footage captured at HD for the final show. AVID people are saying the timecode would be off for my sequence if capturing SD on the AVID, then using that sequence for capturing HD on FCP.
    Yes or no?

    Thanks,
    Dan

Varicam footage uses a 30fps timebase. I just reread and you are offlining in Avid and finishing in FCP, you should be just fine as FCP will capture the footage correctly. Do you have a Kona?

    Yes, KONA 3.
