DVCPro50 squished by compressor mpeg4
I have some footage shot on an HVX200 – DVCPro 50 at 480i. I exported from Final Cut Pro 6.04 using export as QT movie. Then opened that in Compressor.
I tried Compressor setting of Mpeg-4 but the footage has come out squished.
Why would that be when the frame size is set to 100% of source and the pixel aspect is set to default for size? -

DV uses non-square pixels, MP4 uses square pixels. Solution, set the output frame size aspect ratio to match the source aspect ratio, not the source frame size,
I.e. 720×480 non-square source = 640×480 square output.__________________________________________________________________
