    According to the specs though, a standard DVD will play won’t it? But if you can get a hold of the owners’ manual… you might be able to create a file that will play OK… JVC’s implementation of MPEG may be different…

    Jerry,

    I think its just a normal DVD player — nothing special about the way it does anything. I think he just needs to make a standard DVD-R.

    LumiereHD will convert any Quicktime movie to m2t.

    Also, the Apple Firewire SDK, which is free, comes with some DVHS tools. So that might have something that can convert to .m2t as well.
