So I have the old Final Cut Stodio, version 5.0.4 . I am working on a intel macbookpro, and I don’t have the universal upgrade for this version of Final cut, so I am asumming it is running with rosetta.

Here’s my problem, I am able to view and edit DVCpro HD files in Final Cut, but in the Finder, Quicktime, pfhoe pro, the file shows up with audio but the video is black.

I thought maybe the machine didn’t have the codec so I downloaded the lastet from apple, but still working. It confused me why I can see it in Final Cut but not in the final, nor can I see it in pfhoe, so that I can matchmove it.

    Any help?

FCP is not supported on Rosetta. You need at least FCP 5.1 to run on Intel machines. It might operate sort of, but it won’t work reliably.

You really need to go buy the upgrade to FCP 6. 5.0.x is not supported on Intel hardware, and FCP is not supported on Rosetta. If you want it to work, your best bet is to upgrade to FCS2/FCP6.

    Ok thank you,

I am running Final Cut Studio 2 at the studio I work at, but I personally own the the prior version that I use on my intel. Probably should make the change over myself soon.
