  • DVCPRO HD MOV video appears as white screen

Posted by Ivan Myles on August 3, 2013 at 5:24 pm

I am working with DVCPRO HD footage. The files all look good except for one. In the problem file video appears white when imported to either Premiere Pro or After Effects CS6.

The audio stream plays without issue. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot the video? The problem file is posted here, and its MediaInfo detail is listed below. All parameters other than file size are the same as the good files.

The QT dvcpro HD format that FCP uses is proprietary, so only computers with FCP installed can view them. You either need to convert to ProRes before bringing overcrowding the other system, or provide them the camera raw footage (if this is P2).

    [Ivan Myles] “Bottom Field First”

    Huh?

Thank you for the message. I was able to view the video in QTPro after downloading a DVCPRO HD decoder. Why would Premiere/AE (CS6-Win7) have trouble with one file but open six others without issue when all the files appear to be encoded the same?
