DVCPro HD and FCP 4.5
I’ve been given an external drive containing 240 QuickTime videos, aprox. 40 gigs of material. The client wants the QuickTimes combined and layed back to video tape.
After importing some of the footage into Final Cut I checked FCP’s “Pixel Aspect” column and noted that the footage was DVCPro HD 720p60. I set FCP’s “Easy Setup” to correspond with that information and then created a new sequence. I placed one of the QuickTime files into the newly created sequence and got a red bar at the top of the Sequence window indicating the need to render before being able to playback.
I don’t know enough to understand what I’m doing wrong or, perhaps, what questions I should ask the client about the origin of the footage and would appreciate a nudge in the right direction.
I use a Mac G5 2.5 dual, FCP 4.5 and a Blackmagic Decklink SP card.
