  • DVCPRO HD 720p25 SYNC PROBLEM

Posted by Leonpeon on October 1, 2007 at 4:38 pm

I run 5.1.2 on a MacBookPro – just captured some music video fotage from a Panasonic DVX 200 – with the DVC PRO HD 720p25 codec. I have used the easy setup for the codec. I imported the fotage via the P2 import function.(the clips becomes 720p50 in my bin by the way)

My problem is that the sound and video gets unsync rather fast- The same cd used for the playback on the shoot, is used as a ref on my timeline.

Anyone who has any input? I started to sync it up shot by shot, but I have to adjust them every 3-5 seconds – a lame job to to.
This reminds me when I made super8 videos…
Before I go any further with this, I hope you can help me out.

When you imported the footage, did you have ‘remove duplicated frames’ selected in the import preferences?
I had trouble to get P2 footage shot at 720/50p at 25fps correctly imported by FCP. Only way was to use P2Log (ext software) or to shoot at 720/25pn.
    Hope that helps.
