DVCPRO HD 60 up-res for Bluray
Working on a 90 minute documentary that was originally shot with a P2 camera.
The original media was shot in 1080p, but in the FCP project, the material was logged and transferred at DVCPRO HD60.
Now they want to create a Blu-ray from the final sequence — but the project setting is only 960×720.
Do I need to go back to the original cards and log and transfer the material at 1080?
I think the P2 assigns a unique file number each time, so how would FCP know how to relink?
Is there also a way to “decompose” the sequence so I don’t have to take in every clip?
And of course it’s Friday and this needs to be done for Monday!

Log and transfer will ingest P2 footage natively. If it was shot 720p, it will ingest as 720p. Same goes for 1080i. You can not log and transfer P2 footage from 720 to 1080. If you didn’t have to render your sequence when you added the clips to the timeline, then all is good. Export a self contained or reference movie and bring that into Compressor to create a MPEG 2 or h.264 for Blu Ray.
