    Hiya,
i have a client in Canada who has shot DVCPro HD – 720p60 – flagged @ 25fps to make it viable for a PAL market. He’ll be ingesting via a Kona 2 card. None of the presets included with FCP and the Kona card take this frame rate/work method into account. I’m happy to edit the presets but need guidance to ensure the project runs smoothly and correctly. Can anyone help?

You just need to make a custom setup as the Kona 2 can capture at just about any frame rate.

Got into your Audio / Video Settings – Capture Setting tab.

Choose the AJA 23.98 DVCPro HD Varicam preset and select “Duplicate”

When it opens up, simply change the frame rate from 23.98 to 25.

Save it as a 25 DVCPro HD Varicam setting.

There you go. This will capture in the DVCPro HD codec at 25fps through the HD-SDI input on the Kona 2.

You can do this to change the frame rate for just about any captures via the K2.
