    DVCPro capture problem

    Hi there,

    I’ve got a Panasonic VHX200 DVC Pro camera. I’m trying to capture from tape via Firewire into FCP in DVCPro format. When I press capture, it records for 2 sec, then stops with the comment: Problems reading material on tape. When I try to capture in DV Pal Anamorphic, it works fine. Can I have captured in the wrong format or what have a not done correctly?

    Well, the HVX200 only captures DV25 onto tape. Run the easy set-up for DV-NTSC (or PAL if that’s what you’re shooting) and you should be able to ingest. Only the P2 cards can record DVCPro and DVCProHD.
