DVCam to SDI
I use FCP4 and edit a 30 min magazine programme shot on DVCam. It gets broadcast via an XT EVS. I transfer the footage using the SDI output on a DSR2000 using embedded audio. When viewing the broadcast I get some strange effects on dissolves and arced footage which has gone from 16:9 to 4:3. The picture appears to strobe or judder really badly but only on these elements of the programme. Does anyone have any ideas please.

if you are staying in DVCAM codec then I would say what you are seeing is compression artifacting inherint in 5:1 compressed DVCAM material. If you were to online this SDI footage at ten bit uncompressed you might not see this.

Could be some kind of field order issue. Best thing is to pull the boradcast back into your NLE and examine frame by frame to see what’s happening.
