  • DVC30 firewire quit working After Upgrading

    Hello,

I’ve been using my AG-DVC30 for the last year with Adobe Premiere Elements and was able to transfer video without any issues. This week I upgraded to Premiere 6.5 (I know it’s old). After the upgrade I was no longer able to transfer video from my DVC30. All that controls work fine. I can stop, play and rewind but no video is coming across.

I connected an older sony consumer camcorder (TRV-19) and it seems to work fine. Is is possible that since 6.5 came out prior to the DVC30, it replaced some drivers with older ones? Whatever is the problem,it also effected other NLE’s. I’ve tested the camera with Studio 9, iMovie and PE all showing the same issue.

    Any thoughts would be helpful!

    Thanks,
    Gary

What device settings did you try? try the “Standard” setting if that doesn’t work try each of the alternates, also make sure you have DirectX 9c loaded.

Okay – I figured it out… Looks like there’s a conflict between the DVC30 and my Canopus 110. When I unplug the Canopus box, the camera started working. Still not sure why the older Sony camera worked.

Different brands use firewire differently, thats why the brand and individual device control settings, best not to have two DV devices connected at the same time
