    Hello,

I’ve just imported footage from the P2 card after shooting with the Panasonic HVX. Unfortunately, I cannot play the footage on my Macbook Pro with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. I tried installing a Sheer QT component, but it still can’t read the files. What do I need to install?/how do I do it?/I need help.

    Thanks

You need the DVCPROHD codec installed on your computer, the problem is the codec is not a free codec and it was licensed to FCP…Not Quicktime.

I am not aware of any other 3rd party applications that has DVCPROHD codec licensed to it (other than NLE’s).

Maybe somebody else on this forum knows one?

You can download Panasonic’s P2CMS which will come with a version of the DVCPRo HD codec that you can preview your files with. For editing them, you will need to get an NLE on that machine to install the proper codecs.
